Solar Drift
Sun-faded melodic hip-hop — warm guitars, drifting pads and heavy drums under a vocal that floats instead of pushing.
Overview
Kenza B sings like golden hour sounds — unhurried, a little hazy, completely sure of itself. Solar Drift was built to hold that light: live-feel guitar loops, pads that drift instead of switching, and drums heavy enough to anchor the whole thing without dragging it down.
The challenge
Warmth kept turning to mud. Every guitar layer added glow and took away clarity, and the drums that felt right in the room sounded polite on record. The production needed weight and air at the same time — sunshine with a spine.
Approach
We committed to fewer, better layers: two guitars instead of six, each with its own lane. The pads were side-chained to the vocal so Kenza always sits in light, and the drums were tracked hot then pulled back — saturation for character, faders for control.
